Morning Crossfit
Are You Ready To Get Fit?

Kettlebell Swings

I love crossfit. And I love morning crossfit even more.

But I'm not just here to talk about how awesome it is. No. I am here to let you in on a little secret of mine for how you can get the most out of the time you spend exercising.

Personally, by combining the most efficient type of workout I know - crossfit - with the best time of day to exercise - morning - I have really seen my fitness reach a new high.

So what is crossfit anyway? If this is brand-new for you, then check out this magnificent definition that I found of the purpose of crossfit. Crossfit is about:

Constantly varied high-intensity functional movements designed for universal scalability

So in simple words - it's about varied, useful and fun exercise. But, if you still need some intro into what it actually is, read more about crossfit here.

Now let's get back to this part about doing it in the morning. Why can't we just wait until after work like everyone else?

Let me clarify this real good. IF you want MAXIMUM results from the time you spend on exercising, THEN working out in the MORNING is the only way to go. Whether you are into it to get fit for the beach or you want to finally lose that annoying extra weight, please take my advice.

And here's why.

Top 5 Reasons to Try CrossFit in the Morning

1. Instant Energy

First, when you start your day with a session of high-intensity training, such as crossfit, you will get energetic instantly. Too often we spend several hours after waking up before we're actually fully awake. That's a waste of precious time when you could have accomplished something great.

So instead, we go for it straight away, and in as little as 5 minutes you're gonna feel like a new person.

2. No More Pressure

Second, by performing a short crossfit workout, perhaps around 15 minutes, you're done exercising for the entire day. That feeling is just awesome :-)

No more worrying if you will have time to exercise after work, and no more anxiety for what's coming up.

3. Free Calorie Burn

Third, by kick starting your metabolism like this, you will actually continue to burn calories pretty much throughout the day - ideal for weight loss.

And remember, you need energy to burn those calories so make sure you have a real power breakfast after your session.

4. Set Up For Success

Fourth, you have already done something tangible and set the tone for the rest of your day. More accomplishments await you!

This is actually a very powerful psychological trick that will set you in a positive as soon as you wake up.

5. No More Procrastination

Fifth, you are way less likely to procrastinate your exercise routine since you won't have the normal excuses coming your way in the morning (dinner with friends, a great TV-show, or too tired from work).

None of them are likely to happen in the morning and so you actually start to develop a very powerful habit of morning crossfit.

Probably it sounds like I'm selling some crossfit course here... well, I'm not. I'm just so damn excited about the topic. Crossfit is in fact quite a new phenomenon but is growing rapidly in popularity. Once introduced to the concept, many will be hooked and as an inevitable result...

...their bodies and health will reach levels never seen before.

So the reason I've found it to be so ideal for morning exercise is that it instantly gets my body going. And that's what I want. I am not looking to spend up to an hour at the gym doing a couple of exercise while resting 5 minutes in between. If you start your day that way, you can just imagine how the rest of your day will look like...

Instead, full speed right from the start is the way to go. So if you're still interesting in crossfit, let's get down to the real thing.

How To Get Started With Morning Crossfit

Not much is required to get started with morning crossfit. That's the beauty of it all.

Since you want to do it right away once you're up from bed, I suggest doing it all at home. Myself, I just have one of these door bars - it's awesome! I also have a kettlebell. Besides that, nothing! Oh yes, actually I have this yoga mat as well which I had to get after getting a bit uncomfortable on my stone floor...

The absolute best way to get started is just to get moving. To try some different exercises at home and feel it out.

This is one of my personal favorite WODs (Workout Of the Day) right here:

Pull-Ups

Pull-ups

Burpees

Burpees

Air Squats

Air Squats

Kettlebell Swings

So what you actually do is 3 rounds of:

  • 8 Pull Ups
  • 20 Burpees
  • 20 Air Squats
  • 20 Kettlebell Swings

So at least try it, combine the best time - morning - with the most efficient type of exercise - crossfit - and you get my personal favorite:
