Wake Up Fast
How To Get Instant Energy

Wake Up Fast

If you're like most people, then you probably don't wake up fast in the morning.

Am I right that you sometimes feel a bit groggy when the alarm goes off? ;-)

Well, it's common, but still very annoying. To overcome this you basically have two different options:

  1. Form a habit - make your body understand that it's time to wake up the same time every day. This will soon make you wake up naturally at the right time. You can read more about habits here.
  2. Get instant energy - give your body a few highly-intense minutes straight after your up.

So today we are obviously gonna talk more about option number 2. And the best and most straightforward way to give yourself that energy boost is of course through moving your body. That's the key to make your body wake up really fast.

Before I'll let you in on my personal tips for when I feel a bit drowsy in the morning, I just want to explain why it works so well.

The reason that you wake up so damn tired is simple: Your alarm clock wakes you up in the middle of one of your sleep cycles. This causes your body to be suddenly taken out of a specific stage of your sleep where you organs and muscles aren't really awake and ready.

However, if you wake up in between your sleep cycles instead, then you can actually feel both well-rested and alert. That's why forming a habit works so well. But if you haven't, then why not take some immediate actions instead and make sure your entire body wakes up instantly.

Personally, I have one of these door bars at home which gives me an excellent way to get started. So in order to wake myself up fast I just do 8 of these pull-ups, then rest for around 30 seconds before I repeat at least 2 more rounds.

This wakes me up very effectively! I can feel how the blood starts pumping harder and harder through my body and how I really get instant energy.

Also, remember to drink a big cup of water together with your exercise. You're most likely very dehydrated after a long nights sleep.

If you don't like the pull-ups how about push-ups, or air squats, or...

  • Jumping Jacks
  • Burpees
  • Sit-ups
  • Etc. etc.

Basically any exercise works. Just make it short (up to 5 minutes) and intense (increases your breathing).

So try this already tomorrow morning. Wake up fast and get instant energy!
